Compliance FAQ
What does it cost to reinstate my MC?
FMCSA charges a flat $80 FMCSA reinstatement fee (49 CFR §360.3T(f)(52)) when the reinstatement request is filed - the same $80 for MC, MX, MC-B, and FF authority. On top of the $80, the cost depends on the cause: bringing insurance current (set by your insurer), a fresh BOC-3 if the designation lapsed, or corrective-action work for a safety-rating recovery. Fast Trucking Compliance's MC authority reinstatement price is itemized as two separate amounts: $220 service fee + $80 FMCSA fee = $300 total.

Why does it matter?
The FMCSA reinstatement fee is a flat $80 under 49 CFR §360.3T(f)(52), paid when the reinstatement request is submitted. It is separate from the $300 OP-1 fee charged only when you apply for brand-new authority instead of reinstating the existing one.
Insurance reinstatement: the premium to bring coverage current or bind a new policy, set by your insurer based on your history, equipment, and operation.
BOC-3 lapse cure: a fresh BOC-3 filed with FMCSA by a registered process-agent provider.
MCS-150: FMCSA charges no fee for the biennial update; a filing service charges its own fee if you use one.
Safety-rating recovery: the cost depends on the corrective actions needed (driver qualification files, maintenance records, drug-and-alcohol program) and varies by fleet.
New-entrant audit failure: the cost is whatever it takes to fix the cited deficiencies, which varies by carrier.

We prepare your reinstatement request; it is submitted to FMCSA by you or a filer you authorize. FMCSA charges an $80 fee to reinstate revoked MC operating authority (49 CFR 360.3T). For MC reinstatement, our $220 service fee and the $80 FMCSA fee are itemized as two separate amounts before you pay ($300 total). DOT out-of-service reinstatement is a $200 service fee with no FMCSA fee.
