Registration opens October 1, 2026 and is due by December 31, 2026. Enforcement of 2027 registration starts January 1, 2027, with no grace period. Pay through your base-state UCR portal. Late filings incur interest plus per-state administrative penalties.

2027 fees per FMCSA’s final rule, 91 FR 56063 (published September 1, 2026; effective October 1, 2026), codified at 49 CFR 367.50. The increase averages 20% and ranges from $9 (Bracket 1) to $9,329 (Bracket 6). It is a single increase that stays in force for 2027 and later years until a future rulemaking. Brokers, freight forwarders without vehicles, and leasing companies pay the Bracket 1 fee.

The Unified Carrier Registration agreement under 49 CFR Part 367 is an annual interstate carrier fee. Proceeds are distributed to participating jurisdictions for motor-carrier safety enforcement and registration administration. UCR replaced the old Single State Registration System (SSRS) in 2007.
