Compliance FAQ

How do I find my MCS-150 PIN?

FMCSA no longer uses a USDOT PIN. Since Motus opened on May 19, 2026 (legacy systems were retired May 14), you sign in with Login.gov and link your USDOT number to your account.

Why does it matter?

The PIN was a legacy credential from FMCSA's older registration systems. FMCSA retired it with its legacy registration systems on May 14, 2026; the Motus registration system (motus.dot.gov) opened on May 19, 2026. There is nothing to find, recover, or request.

To file an MCS-150 online, create a Login.gov account, sign in at motus.dot.gov, and link your USDOT number to your account. Once the USDOT number is linked, you can review your registration and submit the MCS-150 update in Motus.

If you are trying to get into your FMCSA account, the same steps apply: there is no PIN to look up or replace. Your Login.gov sign-in at motus.dot.gov, with your USDOT number linked to it, is how you get into your FMCSA registration record.

If your business address or contact details are out of date, you correct them in the same MCS-150 update in Motus.

If you would rather not set up Login.gov yourself, a filing service can help. We prepare your MCS-150 update; it is submitted to FMCSA in Motus by you or a filer you authorize. Fast Trucking Compliance charges a $25 add-on only if you choose PIN recovery or Login.gov setup help.
