Reinstatement Filing
Also known as: Reinstatement Request, Reinstatement Submission

Definition
A reinstatement filing is the request to FMCSA to restore revoked operating authority once the underlying cause is cured. It confirms that the insurance, BOC-3 and any civil-penalty issues are resolved and, for MC authority, pays the $80 FMCSA reinstatement fee through FMCSA’s system. It is submitted to FMCSA by the carrier or a filer the carrier authorizes. FMCSA reviews the request and controls how long that takes; an incomplete request, with a cause left uncured, is rejected. No filing service can promise that FMCSA will reinstate the authority.
