FMCSA Reinstatement Fee
Also known as: Reinstatement Fee, $80 Reinstatement Fee

Definition
The FMCSA reinstatement fee is the $80 government fee FMCSA charges to process the reinstatement of revoked operating authority (49 CFR 360.3T). It is paid to FMCSA with the request and is separate from any filing-service fee and from the cost of curing the underlying cause, such as a new insurance premium or a BOC-3. A filing service that collects it should show it as its own line, apart from its service fee. The fee is non-refundable, so the usual sequence is to cure every cause first, then submit the request and pay. FMCSA charges no reinstatement fee to lift an out-of-service order on a USDOT number.
