Definition

Login.gov is the federal sign-in service FMCSA uses for its Motus registration system (motus.dot.gov). Motus opened on May 19, 2026, after FMCSA retired its legacy registration systems and the USDOT PIN on May 14, 2026. A carrier signs in with Login.gov and links its USDOT number to its account to file the MCS-150 and manage its registration online. The account and the MCS-150 filing itself are free. Some filing services offer help setting up the account, priced as a separate, optional add-on.
