FMCSA Fine Payment Portal
Also known as: FMCSA Online Fine Payment Portal, Civil Penalty Payment Portal

Definition
The FMCSA fine payment portal is FMCSA’s online portal for paying a civil penalty assessed in a Notice of Claim. FMCSA allows credit-card payment by the Respondent named in the claim, whether a motor carrier, driver, shipper, freight forwarder or broker. An unpaid civil penalty is its own revocation cause, so the balance has to be resolved before a reinstatement request can go through. The penalty payment is separate from the $80 FMCSA reinstatement fee, which is a registration filing fee rather than a penalty, and separate from any filing-service fee.
