Compliance FAQ

How long do MVR and CDLIS reports take to come back?

Timing depends on the issuing state for the MVR. CDLIS lists the states where the driver has held a CDL; the state-of-record detail still comes from each state MVR. PSP and Clearinghouse timing is set by FMCSA, and the Clearinghouse query also waits on the driver's consent.

Why does it matter?

MVR timing depends on the issuing state. We email the PDF when that state delivers the record. Do not plan a dispatch around a clock we do not control.

CDLIS is the AAMVA pointer of states where the driver has held a CDL. The detail behind each state still comes from that state's MVR, and that timing depends on the state.

For the bundled DOT Pre-Employment package (MVR + CDLIS + PSP + 12 months of Clearinghouse query management), the slowest component sets the overall return time. PSP and the Clearinghouse query run on FMCSA's systems, which control their timing, and the Clearinghouse query also waits on the driver's consent.

We email each report when it is delivered.
