USDOT Reactivation

Also known as: Reactivation, Reactivate USDOT

Definition

USDOT reactivation is restoring a deactivated USDOT number to active status. When the deactivation was caused by a missed MCS-150 biennial update, reactivation starts with filing the overdue update with current information in Motus. FMCSA controls when the update shows in its records. Before operating again, the carrier should also confirm that insurance, the BOC-3, UCR and state registrations are current. Reactivation tied to a safety order or a revocation of authority is a separate, more involved process and is not resolved by an MCS-150 alone.
