USDOT PIN, FMCSA Login & Account Recovery
Since Motus opened on May 19, 2026 (legacy systems were retired May 14), you sign in with Login.gov and link your USDOT number to your account. Getting that access set up before your due month is the easiest way to avoid a last-minute scramble.
FMCSA registration now runs through Motus at motus.dot.gov. You create or sign in to a Login.gov account, complete identity verification, and then link your existing USDOT number to your Motus company account. The access codes from FMCSA's older systems are no longer used.
If Login.gov identity verification fails online, Login.gov offers other options, such as verifying your address by mail. If you are verified but your USDOT record will not link - for example because the company officer on file has changed - the FMCSA Contact Center can help.
Keep the address on your USDOT record current with an MCS-150 update so FMCSA correspondence reaches you.
The cluster below covers Motus sign-in, how to file the MCS-150 once you are in, and how to confirm the update. A filing service cannot complete identity verification for you; once access is set up, we prepare your MCS-150 update; it is submitted to FMCSA in Motus by you or a filer you authorize.
