Compliance FAQ

How do I pay UCR?

UCR fees are paid at registration time through the National Registration System. With Fast Trucking Compliance, you pay at checkout with the UCR government fee itemized separately from our service fee - Tier 1 is $90 ($55 UCR government fee + $35 service fee). We prepare your UCR registration; it is submitted to the National UCR System. The receipt is emailed once the registration is accepted, and it is valid in all 50 states.

Why does it matter?

UCR fees flow through the participating-state UCR-compliant base. The carrier's base state is typically their principal place of business (which is also the state where the carrier holds their MC, USDOT, and other primary registrations).

A filing service collects the payment from the carrier, shows the government fee and its own service fee as separate line items, and pays the government fee as part of the registration - the carrier pays the filing service rather than paying the portal directly.

Once the UCR Plan processes the payment, the carrier's record shows as registered in the National Registration System, where participating states, brokers, and shippers can look it up.

For carriers based in non-participating jurisdictions (Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont, Wyoming, plus the District of Columbia), the registration goes through a participating base state. The fee, registration, and receipt work the same way.
